Ananda
Kriya Yoga
Weekend Retreat
Fri, April 30 -
Sun, May 2, 2010
Kriya Yoga is a meditation technique that quickly accelerates one’s spiritual growth toward the goal of yoga: union with the Divine. It was first made widely known by Paramhansa Yogananda in his Autobiography of a Yogi. Kriya consists of easy-to-learn techniques to increase concentration and awareness, promote deeper meditation, and increase our energy.
Join us for an experiential retreat in which you will practice the beginning techniques of Kriya Yoga through twice daily guided spiritual practices (Energization Exercises, Ananda Yoga postures, chanting, meditation). Additionally, through discussion, stories, and inspiration talks, you’ll learn more about the Kriya tradition and discover ways to live more superconsciously for greater happiness and success in all areas of life.
There will be a Kriya Yoga initiation into the full technique on Saturday evening. For eligibility, email Devarshi (Dave Warner) at Ananda in Nevada City, CA. There will be an alternate program for those not participating in the initiation.
We look forward to sharing the ever-new joy of meditation with you!

The retreat will be led by Jaya Helin and Sadhana Devi, who are ministers and founding members of Ananda Worldwide. They have had many roles over the years in teaching, business, construction, and management of the Ananda spiritual centers and communities in California, the East Coast, and currently in India. Jaya is authorized to give Kriya Yoga initiation, and they have both been sharing the principles of Kriya and the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda for over 40 years in the US, Europe, and India.
"Kriya plus devotion works like mathematics, it cannot fail!"--Yogananda
Map/Directions to Rolling Ridge Retreat Center
It's located just 45 min west of Marblehead on 114; less than an hour south of York, ME; and less than 2 hours north of Kingston, RI.
We recommend using a good map, GPS, or Google Maps to get to the retreat, as some of these more rural roads can be tricky! Once you get to 660 Great Pond Drive, head down the long, gravel driveway, which slopes down toward the pond, and bear to your left when the road divides to park in the large, main parking lot area. The courtyard entrance pictured above is just a short distance in front of the parking area.
