Spring Retreat 2012
Ananda Kriya Yoga Retreat

Weekend Retreat

Friday, April 27 through Sunday, April 29, 2012

Kriya Yoga is a meditation technique that quickly accelerates one’s spiritual growth toward the goal of yoga:  union with the Divine.  It was first made widely known by Paramhansa Yogananda in his Autobiography of a Yogi.  Kriya consists of easy-to-learn techniques to increase concentration and awareness, promote deeper meditation, and increase our energy.

Join us for an experiential retreat in which you will practice the beginning techniques of Kriya Yoga through twice daily guided spiritual practices (Energization Exercises, Ananda Yoga postures, chanting, meditation).  Additionally, through discussion, stories, and inspirational talks, you’ll learn more about the Kriya tradition and discover ways to live more superconsciously for greater happiness and success in all areas of life.

There will be a Kriya Yoga initiation into the full technique on Saturday evening.  There will also be a separate initiation into the higher Kriya techniques for those who have been practicing basic Kriya for at least three years.  For eligibility, email Devarshi (Dave Warner) at Ananda in Nevada City, CA.

Annette, a participant in a previous Kriya Yoga retreat, wrote:

It was so wonderful to be able to deepen my meditation experience, take time to pause from my busy life, and share Yogananda's teachings with so many like minded people. I felt more spiritually attuned with the gurus and felt refreshed with a new sense of awareness and strength. Thanks to the Boston Ananda group for hosting such a fantastic retreat!

We look forward to sharing the ever-new joy of meditation with you!

The retreat will be led by Nayaswami Devarshi and Nayaswami Pranaba, Kriyacharyas and long-time members of Ananda Worldwide.  They have served in many roles in Ananda businesses and ministry over the years.  They are both authorized to give Kriya Yoga initiation, and they have been sharing the principles of Kriya and the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda in the US and abroad for decades.

"Kriya plus devotion works like mathematics, it cannot fail!"--Yogananda
